Anna Rączka

ANNA RĄCZKA lives and works in Bielsko-Biała. In everyday life we create relationships, a network of connections, but we often fear that expressing feelings may be perceived as weakness. We hide them inside, and this often makes us feel lonely. I try to show that our feelings are what defines us and allows us to form relationships with other people. The lines around the figures are a tissue of dependencies between the inner world and reality, a bridge that allows communication. In painting, I try to show an intimate and subtle world, what happens in the soul of each one of us. In striving to convey this, I search for my own means of expression, often drawing on personal experience. In 2017 I took part in the Metamorphosis project, which was devoted to the work of Zdzisław Beksiński. Exhibitions in this series were held at the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdańsk the Browar B Culture Centre in Włocławek the ZASP Józef Brandt Gallery in Radom the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Kołobrzeg the City Gallery in Wrocław This year I also exhibited my works in Italy: the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Versilia, the exhibition "Talenti Emergenti 2017" at the Mentana gallery in Florence, and also "Regione e Sentimento" and "It's Art" at the Merlino Gallery, also in Florence.
