Jerzy Dmitruk

Jerzy Dmitruk (b. 1960 in Sępopol) works in painting, printmaking, and book design and illustration. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków he studied in the faculties of painting and graphic arts. He received his painting diploma in 1986 under Juliusz Joniak, and completed his graphic arts studies with a diploma awarded with distinction in the studio of Andrzej Pietsch. His body of work includes the print cycles "The Life of a Painter", "Trees of Revelation" and "The Garden of First Love". He has also worked on the design of books of poetry, including those by Wisława Szymborska and Ingeborg Bachmann.
