Description
The square surface is filled with a turquoise depth, which brightens to a pale blue in the upper right corner and thickens towards the lower left corner into navy and olive brown. Scattered across this background are hundreds of small, dark marks with warm, ochre accents. In the upper part they form two broad arcs; lower down they run in a diagonal band towards the corner. The paint is applied thinly, and visible brushstrokes give the background a slight movement. The scattered shapes evoke birds or swimmers seen from a great height. The whole has the calm and slow rhythm of water. The cool, saturated palette is soothing, and the medium format allows it to command the wall without overwhelming it. In a bright living room or bedroom, the turquoise will become the main colour accent.
