Description

About the work

A white cat with its head raised sits above a cluster of small houses with white walls and narrow, dark windows outlined in white, just beneath a small yellow sun set in a blue circle. Slender, pointed trees rise all around. Greens, turquoise and sea blue blend with patches of orange, pink and violet, while a pale, peach-coloured glow shows through at the top. The surface is layered: fine dots, small meshes, pressed patterns and scumbled passages create a dense, shimmering texture. The intimate format invites close viewing, as new details appear in every part of the painting. The whole brings to mind a fairy-tale town seen through the eyes of the protagonist of the painting "The White Cat's Dream". The combination of cool greens with warm accents brings a cheerful mood to a small bedroom or nursery wall.

About the artist

Alicja Słaboń - Urbaniak

She received a distinction and a medal for her diploma work. Since completing her studies she has worked continuously as an artist.
