About the artist
Andrzej Kozyra
Andrzej Kozyra was born in 1965 in Kraków. From 1985 to 1991 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, in the studio of Jan Szancenbach. For almost two decades, from 1986 to 2004, he belonged to the artistic group Trzy Oczy. He paints mainly landscape and architecture, usually in small formats, which favour intimate, focused scenes. His paintings are easily recognised by a muted palette of warm ochres, browns and oranges, broken by cool blue. In the works shown in the gallery, harbours, seaside settlements and sailing ships often recur.
